Dundee Design Festival is all under one roof at the Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc (MSIP), Scotland’s home for sustainable innovation. A former tyre factory, today MSIP provides a dynamic and creative home for a variety of innovative manufacturers and industry leaders who are actively working towards reducing carbon emissions and fostering a cleaner, more sustainable future for all.

By Bus
One of the best ways to get to the festival is with our sustainable transport partner, Ember. You can take one of their electric buses from all stops on the Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth and Dundee routes right to the door of MSIP.
Locally the 10, 14S, 17, 17S and 28 Xplore Dundee buses have stops on or near Baldovie Road, a 10-minute walk from MSIP. Ember buses depart twice hourly from Dundee Train Station directly to MSIP, dropping at the site’s main entrance.
Remember, Scottish bus pass holders travel for free on Ember and Xplore Dundee! Available via Transport Scotland.
By Car
MSIP is a 12-minute drive from Dundee city centre with parking available onsite at the Baldovie Road entrance, hosting 10 electric car charging terminals. The festival has limited spaces for blue badge holders which are immediately adjacent to the festival building. These can be prebooked by emailing: dundeedesignfestival@vandadundee.org
By Coach
If visiting MSIP by coach, please inform the Dundee Design Festival team in advance of your visit so that a parking space can be allocated for you. This should be done a minimum of 24 hours before your visit. Contact us on: dundeedesignfestival@vandadundee.org
By Rail
Dundee Railway Station is roughly 90-minutes from Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Aberdeen by train. You can then travel on to MSIP by bike, bus or taxi.
By Bike + On Foot
The Green Circular is a 26-mile leisure cycle and walking route that circumnavigates Dundee. It passes through areas of parkland, alongside the Firth of Tay riverfront, next to the Dighty Burn and past many of Dundee’s visitor attractions. Why not rent a bike from Dundee Cycle Hub and enjoy a scenic cycle to Dundee Design Festival! Cycling to MSIP from Dundee Train Station takes around 30 mins via National Cycle Route 1.

The McManus: Dundee’s Art Gallery and Museum offers a fascinating insight into Dundee and with 8 galleries to explore, there is a wealth of information to discover in our exhibitions of art, history and the environment. Current displays include This Just In – Recent additions to the collections and Impressed: Twentieth Century Artist Prints from Dundee’s Collection.
V&A Dundee is Scotland’s design museum. Designed for everyone, firing imaginations and sparking curiosity in design across Scotland and around the world. Current exhibitions include showstopper Kimono: Kyoto to Catwalk and Photo City: How Images Shape the Urban World.
Found in the University of Dundee’s Tower Building, Lamb Gallery currently hosts Coupar’s Camera, an exhibition of the work of photographer Alex Coupar, charting the faces and places of Dundee and beyond.
Experience the fascinating tale of Dundee’s industrial heritage at Verdant Works Museum. Witness the machines at work and step back in time to the heart of Dundee’s industrial era to discover more about the city’s fascinating social history. Explore the pioneering RRS Discovery and uncover the stories of her illustrious past, from her beginnings in the shipyards of Dundee to her legendary Antarctic expedition of 1901 under Captain Scott. Both attractions operated by Dundee Heritage Trust.
Dundee Contemporary Arts (DCA) is an internationally renowned centre for contemporary art. With two beautiful large-scale gallery spaces, an independent cinema, a busy print studio and an award-winning learning programme, DCA is a vibrant cultural hub right in the heart of the city. Its current exhibition features textiles, sculpture and print commissions by Peruvian artist Claudia Martínez Garay.
